Kristen’s Cultures

Nature’s Best Market is now carrying Kristen’s Cultures’ spicy Kombucha Mustard!

And they have samples. 😋

‘prō·bī·ô·tics:
friendly, gut-healing bacteria and yeast which:
-fight off the growth of harmful bacteria and yeast
-promote a healthy digestive system
-strengthen the immune system
-heal the gut by restoring gut flora (especially important after taking antibiotics!)

-detoxify your body, ridding it of toxins
-prevent and treat diseases

Fermented foods/drinks are superior to probiotic pills because they:

-cost less: generally, 1-2 bites/sips contain as many probiotics as a whole pill

-are more easily assimilated into your body because of their Real Food form

-contain plenty of vitamins, enzymes and healing acids as well as probiotics

Did you know that your body actually contains more bacterial cells than it does human cells?  Amazing!

Your gut contains about 3lb of bacterial cells, all of which are extremely important to your body’s overall physical, mental and emotional well-being!

According to Hippocrates, father of modern medicine, “All disease begins in the gut.”

You need tons of probiotics to keep your immune system strong and able to fight off intruders, especially after taking antibiotics (which kill the good along with the bad).

Not only do probiotics balance out your gut, but they also help to detoxify your body, getting rid of toxins that have built up over the years, and help you to heal from various ailments with their amazing enzymes, healing acids and food-based vitamins.

Fermented foods/drinks are not only a delicious way to get probiotics into your body, but they are also cheaper and more readily assimilated into your body than probiotic pills are, because of their Real Food form.

🍔 This is a simple, delicious way to incorporate important probiotics into your diet! Spread this old-style dijon on to your sandwich, burger, or pair with meat/fish. 🥪

Not only will your taste buds fall in love, but because your gut health affects your overall health, this mustard will help your immune system, digestion and much more. (Check out my website and Google to learn about the amazing benefits of probiotics.)

CFIA warning about gluten-free beer ‘huge’ for Regina brewery

CFIA warning about gluten-free beer ‘huge’ for Regina brewery

REGINA, SASK : DECEMBER 16, 2014. Brewmaster Mark Heise at Rebellion Brewery for a story on government regulations. BRYAN SCHLOSSER/Leader-Post.
Rebellion Brewing Co. brewmaster Mark Heise says SLGA’s decision to stop stocking a popular gluten-free beer could be “huge” for his company. BRYAN SCHLOSSER / REGINA LEADER-POST

The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority’s decision to stop selling a popular gluten-free lager could be a “massive” opportunity for a Regina-based brewery that uses lentils grown in the province to make its own celiac-friendly beer.

“It’s huge for us,” Rebellion Brewing Co. brewmaster Mark Heise said of the Crown corporation’s decision to cease ordering Estrella Daura — which is brewed in Spain by S.A. Damm — following a warning from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

SLGA said it could not provide sales statistics for Estrella Daura, but Heise said its absence from bars is expected to boost sales of Lentil Cream Ale, which Rebellion and the Saskatchewan pulse company AGT Foods and Ingredients Inc. launched in late 2015.

The CFIA advised SLGA and other liquor jurisdictions to “put the product on hold” last month after it became concerned that Estrella Daura was made using products that contain gluten, SLGA spokesman David Morris said in an email.

The Crown corporation plans to sell the “very limited stock” remaining in 20 of its stores and ship all of the beer left in its warehouse back to its suppliers, Morris said, adding that other liquor jurisdictions made similar decisions.

S.A. Damm did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The company said on its website that it guarantees Estrella Daura’s gluten content is three parts per million or fewer — below the accepted gluten-free threshold of 20 parts per million.

Arno Oldach, co-owner of the Yard & Flagon and Rook and Raven pubs in Saskatoon, said having a gluten-free beer like Estrella Daura is important as people become more concerned about diet, and that he plans to replace it with Rebellion’s lentil ale.

“That’s what we’ve decided to put on tap in lieu of another option,” he said. “And it sells fairly well. I’m not sure if anyone else is offering a gluten-free option in the form of draft.”

Main-Burger_0Fatburger locations provide a unique environment to enjoy our products

Hip, modern, regionally-inspired décor sets the tone for a real Hamburger Grill. What sets Fatburger apart is the process; No burger or sandwich is made until you order it! You choose your burger, and you get it topped the way YOU like it. NOBODY MAKES ‘EM LIKE FATBURGER (except Fatburger, of course!).
FBR8_Allergens_M1
In 1952, Lovie Yancey created something unique. A culture. A phenomenon, if you will. She created the biggest, juiciest hamburgers anyone had ever seen. So obviously, there was only one name for them – Fatburger.

Half a century later, while other places are just discovering taste, we’re still making hamburgers the way she did. Fresh lean beef, not frozen patties. Cooked-to-order, just the way you want it, every time.

The only thing Lovie loved as much as hamburgers was music. So you’ll hear some of the best music ever blasting from kickin’ new jukeboxes: Rock’n’Roll, R&B, Hip-Hop, and Classic Soul that’ll keep you groovin’ in your chair long enough to finish that big juicy burger. We’d love to tell you about the late night talk show hosts and rap stars who’ve made us the happenin’ place—but our attorneys won’t let us. (And, of course, restaurant critics keep naming us the best burger in town, but you don’t care about those guys.)

Now here’s just a few things to make you drool over your keyboard: onion rings made from real onions. Hand-scooped, real ice cream shakes. Great tasting chili. And fries cooked in 100% cholesterol-free oil. All served with a smile. Fatburger. Distinctive seasonings and attitude since 1952.

What makes us absolutely unique and different?
Hamburger people develop a cult-like devotion to Fatburger. Fatburgers are made with real beef burgers made when you order it with FRESH, LEAN (Alberta AAA) BEEF; dressed to your specifications with the best quality condiments.

Fatburger is all about Uncompromising Quality.
People who try us become devoted to Fatburger: Why? For the Big, Juicy, Tasty Original Fatburger or for the giant sized Kingburger Supreme. And people even become devoted to Fatburger because of the irreverent regard we have for the business of burgers (check out our ads!).

Fatburger also has a legacy for music; especially Classic Rock ‘n Roll, Soul, and R&B. Fatburger was started in L.A. in 1952 by Lovie Yancey; in answer to her musician friends who needed a great place to eat the best burger; any time of the day or night (that’s how the egg ended up on a Fatburger).
